Grown at over 4,000 feet above sea level near the small town of Lintongnihuta - and so named for its distinctive blue-green color before roasting - our Sumatra Blue Lintong is a distinctive and memorable coffee, offering a smooth, rich flavor delivered in a full-bodied, low acid cup. Seldom seen outside of Europe, where it has been a favorite for generations, the coffee is processed differently than most other Arabica coffees. Rather than having the coffee fruit and seeds separated in modern mills, the indigenous growers of Lintongnihuta still process and dry the coffee in the traditional hand-processed manner, resulting in extra body and flavor in the cup.
