| Thai Lemon creatively brings together some familiar and unfamiliar citrus and herbs. The base of the blend is Lemon Verbena, a plant native to Chile and Peru. Commercially cultivated in Europe, Lemon Verbena has an unusually pure, fruity lemon note; it is more intense than many other lemon-scented herbs. Lemon Grass, familiar to devotees of regional Thai cuisine, adds a subtle dash of body and spice to the brew. Native to India - where, interestingly, it is a medicinal, not culinary herb - Lemon Grass is widely used today in Thai, Vietnamese, and Caribbean cooking. Rosehips, the small, dried fruit of the rosebush that is rich in Vitamin C, adds a distinctive tartness to our Thai Lemon tisane. Rosehips also contribute a refreshing floral aroma and slightly fruity note to the blend. Lemon Peel and Lemon Balm are used sparingly, balancing out the Lemon Vebena's rich flavor with their brightness and aroma, all without caffeine. |
